TRANSTION #1 - SWIM-TO-BIKE
64.947083, -23.421750 - Marked with a blue flag. Gravel Parking lot at the big gate with huge padlock just off the highway. You cannot park here. 64.842624, -23.737798 - T’s at course (F570). Stop and park off the road. Do not enter the course.
From Olafsvik it takes about 60-90 total minutes to get to this final point and should NOT be attempted by any support that needs to meet their athlete and the half way turnaroun point (listed below) as there’s not enough time to do both. If you wish to see your athlete at about the 10k and 32k marks and aren’t running with him/her, you may take the side mountain access road with your 4x4 or all-wheel-drive vehicle. If you take this road you will eventually make it to the fork that t’s at the mountain course. You can park off the road there and wait for runners. YOU MUST GO BACK THE SAME WAY YOU CAME. YOU MUST ALSO BE VERY CAREFUL ON THESE ROADS ESPECIALLY ON BLIND TURNS AND CLIMBS.
RUN COURSE HALF WAY U-TURN POINT
64.79441, -23.64225 - Support and/or spectators welcome to park here and cheer or support their runner. If support runner is starting here they may NOT leave the car in this area. Any cars left may be towed. NO ONE besides our staff, medical team, and the runners are allowed to travel the mountain road (course) over the mountain. Anyone wishing to get to the u-turn halfway point MUST take the paved flat highway all the way around the west end of the peninsula to access this point. You CANNOT cut through the peninsula via the mountain road.
